Canada Organizes Large Canadian Experience Class Invitation Round

Canada is focusing on inviting large batches of eligible candidates this year in order to meet its higher immigration targets. Canada relies heavily on immigrants for boosting its economy and filling labor deficiencies and this is a part of their effort to restore normalcy after the pandemic lessened immigration numbers last year.

Details of the draw

On June 24, 2021, Canada organised yet another large Express Entry draw for candidates through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Canada issued a total of 6000 invitations among eligible candidates who will now be able to submit their application for permanent residence. The minimum required CRS score for the candidates was 357.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is continuing to lower the CRS cutoff so that more candidates are eligible for invitations. In order for CEC candidates to receive invitations, they should have a year of work experience in Canada in a skilled occupation. They should also have intermediate knowledge of English or French.

While there might not have been a tie necessarily, IRCC still has to publish a cut-off time according to the tie-break rule. For the June 24 draw, the country only invited those candidates who fulfilled the score requirements and had completed their Express Entry profile prior to February 17, 2021, 10:15:50 UTC.

Due to the travel restrictions preventing international travelers from coming to Canada, the country has not organized an all-program draw in a while. As the restrictions are lifted over the next few months, we might see more all-program draws.
